The One Big Game, Three Ways

Kobe Bryant's 81-point masterclass, Bam Adebayo's historic 83-point offensive explosion, and Luka Dončić's 73-point ultra-efficient masterpiece. Explored head-to-head with advanced shooting metrics, opponent difficulty ratings, and full career game logs.

How hard was it, really?

Points alone do not tell the whole story. We weigh each performance by offensive carrying load, shooting efficiency (True Shooting %), free throw reliance, opponent defensive prowess, and game pace.

Sources & Methodology

Box Scores & Game Logs
Individual game logs, minute-by-minute stats, field-goal splits, and career records are compiled from Basketball-Reference and verified against official NBA Stats API box scores (2005–06 through 2025–26 regular seasons).
Shot Profiles & Efficiency
True Shooting Percentage (TS%), Free Throw Rate (FTr), and Usage Share are computed following standard Dean Oliver / Basketball-Reference formulas. Points per minute and shot trajectories are reconstructed from play-by-play data feeds.
Defensive Context
Opponent season-long defensive ratings, league ranks, pace factors, and opponent scoring highs are compiled across all 82-game schedules for Toronto (2005–06), Atlanta (2023–24), and Washington (2025–26).
